Lovely old world but very nice.

Could be better with the wine. Not much of a choice & the white wine was not chilled.

Very comfortable room. Good restaurant. Great swimming pool.

Wifi could be better.

The staff was great

The staff is very friendly and helpful (like all Myanmar people!). The set up of the reosrt is beautiful with nice little 'houses' in great and well kept gardens. The swimming ppol was in good order and so was the overall property. The room was spacious and fortunately very clean. The resort spa was small, but of very high quality - excellent massage with superb price quality - take one every dauy before dinner! I found it difficult to find a good and safe hotel in Bagan with little (recent) proper reviews - hence also my more extensive review of this nice and 'great pick!' hotel. Location is excellent and very close to all sights. Breakfast also ok for Western travellers. I will certainly look to return with my family. PS: I made use of a local tour guide: Min Thant of Tastes of Bagan (.com). I would highly recommend to book him! A very knowledgeable, friendly, enthousiastic and fluently English speaking guide (tastesofbagan.com / WhatsApp: +95 (0)9 2560 39745 / [email protected] had a wonderful 1 1/2 day tour - on e-bike, best way to experience all the stupa's in nature - Just please book him (and say hello from me ;))!

To be honest in the current situation in Myanmar - after covid + political unrest - the resort is in amazing good shape and hence no negative elements - if at all perhaps only a request to widen/vary the selection of fruits (currently 3 or 4 sorts) a bit more at breakfast (but that is also my personal preference / taste).

Staff don’t really care, no management around. Not properly maintained - we git taken to 3 different rooms. The first - there was a leak from the roof, second - still had previous guests slippers, third the AirCon was really bad. We had no choice, so we moved the bed under the AC to he able to sleep some. We were suposed to stay 2 nights, left after 1.

This hotel could be compared to hotels in first world locations. How they manage to maintain these standards post COVID post Coup in Myanmar I do not know.

The only thing I would change at all would be a slightly more comfortable mattress.

The garden.

The rooms were simply dirty. The towels were always having some kitchen and stinky smell. No matter how many times we asked them to change the towels, they were always the same. I suppose they didn't dry them properly. The floor was never mopped. In general, you could see that the hotel needed serious maintaining. But the worst of all was that dirty green swimming pool! We told them that we came for the pool and they didn't care at all. They just told us that they had too many people for Thingyan. So we wasted 3 days watching that frog pond and when we were checking out, surprise! The swimming pool was clear again! They just received a new wave of local guests so it made sense to clean the pool. Of course, it wasn't necessary to do it for a few guests.
